Good afternoon MAHN students,

We sense there has been a bit of confusion around attendance of the Manitoba Nutrition & Dietetics Research Day from questions we have been receiving this week. 

Here is some clarifying information:

Students who were assigned the MNDRD Day leadership assignment received endorsement with automatic approval to attend MNDRD Day (as it was part of their leadership assignment). This was arranged with their Preceptors prior to the start of the 4^th placement.

In cases where MNDRD Day was not part of your leadership assignment, meaning MAHN students not assigned this leadership activity, MAHN preceptors were provided with the MNDRD event details ahead of the start of the 4th placement and given discretion to decide whether attendance is appropriate for their student. They were directed that the decision should be based on the student’s interest and also alignment with March placement activities and appropriate competency progression.
