Attention all MAHN students,

Effective immediately, there is a change in how you are expected to identify yourself during your placement. This protocol applies to all regions, both within the WRHA and in other areas of Manitoba. This adjustment has been made in consultation with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. The WRHA will communicate this information to the other regions in Manitoba. We are discontinuing the use of terms like Dietetic Intern or MAHN Student.

When introducing yourself in any placement, identify yourself as a nutrition student in the MAHN program and clarify that MAHN stands for the Master of Applied Human Nutrition Program at the University of Manitoba.

For signing purposes, please use “Nutrition Student, MAHN” as your designated title.

Please refer to the attached document for communication from the WRHA to their staff.

Best,

Katrina

The University of Manitoba campuses are located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation.  We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
