Stewart Pugh External Study Scholarship

Mr. Stewart Granger Pugh bequeathed $300,000 to the University of Manitoba to establish an endowment fund in support of students in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences. Mr. Pugh received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from the Faculty of Agriculture and Home Economics in 1940. The purpose of this award is to defray travel-related costs for diploma, undergraduate and graduate students.

Note: The following awards are being considered for revisions to include the MAHN program. We encourage graduate students enrolled in the MAHN program to apply so that their applications can be considered along with the applications of MSc and PhD students enrolled in FHNS programs.

Holmfridur Kristjansson Graduate Award in Nutrition

Through a bequest of $55,000 in 1996, Adalsteinn Kristjansson generously established an endowment fund at the University of Manitoba in memory of Holmfridur (Frida) Josefsdottir Kristjansson. The purpose of the fund is to provide encouragement and recognition to a graduate student with outstanding potential in nutrition research in the Department of Food and Human Nutritional Sciences.

Janet Fabro McComb Award

An endowment fund has been established at the University of Manitoba in memory of Janet Fabro McComb (B.H.Ec/76, M.Sc./79) to support graduate students in the field of Human Nutritional Sciences. Mrs. McComb received her undergraduate as well as her graduate degree in Foods and Nutrition from the former Faculty of Human Ecology.

James Gordon Fletcher Graduate Research Award in Agricultural and Food Sciences

Through a testamentary gift from James Gordon Fletcher, a graduate in Agricultural and Food Sciences at The University of Manitoba (B.S.A. / 25), a fund has been established at the University to support a graduate fellowship in Agricultural and Food Sciences.
