Greetings!

CFJS is going on a social justice mission to New York City! This exciting trip takes place over the Thanksgiving long weekend, October 7-11, 2010.

Experience and participate in a variety of hands-on social justice projects with fellow Canadian Students in NYC! Participants will have opportunities to get a broader understanding of urban social justice issues and strengthen their abilities to advocate for equality.

The Social Justice projects will include:
1. Doing direct service in homeless shelters and food pantries. This focuses participants on a direct encounter with the other.
2. A door-knocking campaign on the Lower East Side which organizers residents around affordable housing, issues of gentrification, housing planning, community development, etc.
3. A day doing advocacy work on the Tav HaYosher which includes training, going to restaurants.

To apply for this amazing opportunity, click here. Application deadline is September 10, 2010. If you have any questions, email nyc@cfjs.ca.

Also, don't forget to check out our Facebook event!
