Tenure Track Position Assistant Professor of Human Rights 

Applications are invited for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with a specialization in human rights. Candidates are expected to hold a doctoral degree in human rights or a related discipline, including but not limited to, history, political science, law or philosophy. A background in human rights law, business, or Indigenous rights would be considered an asset. Candidates should also have a strong research record, and a demonstrated commitment to excellent and innovative undergraduate teaching. 

The successful candidate will have expertise to teach undergraduate human rights courses related to both Canadian and international contexts. Applied work experience in human rights is an asset, as is cross-cultural or international work or teaching experience. 

Human Rights is an interdisciplinary B.A. program housed in The University of Winnipeg Global College. The program places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, as well as creating opportunities for students to gain experience outside the classroom through field courses, practicum placements, community engagement initiatives and doing research with faculty members. 

The effective date of appointment is anticipated to be July 1, 2019.
