L’Université d’Ottawa, le Centre de recherche et d’enseignement sur les droits de la personne et la Croix-Rouge canadienne sont fières de vous présenter la 13e édition du Cours d’été en Droit international humanitaire (DIH) qui se tiendra du 26 au 31 mai 2019.

Les objectifs du cours sont d’enseigner les principes fondamentaux du DIH aux étudiants et aux professionnels, ainsi que de fournir un milieu permettant d’appliquer ces connaissances à des études de cas réalistes et une journée complète dédiée a des exercices de simulations.

Les candidatures d’étudiant(e)s universitaires, d’employé(e)s du gouvernement, d’organisations non gouvernementales, de journalistes et d’entreprises faisant du commerce international sont bienvenues. La priorité sera accordée aux participants possédant de l’expérience pratique ou théorique du droit international humanitaire, du droit international en matière de droits de la personne ou du travail humanitaire.

Le cours est offert en français et en anglais. Les étudiant(e)s doivent choisir leur langue de préférence et l’indiquer sur le formulaire de demande. Lorsque vous êtes inscrit dans une section, il ne sera pas permis de transférer à un autre groupe. Le nombre d’inscriptions est limité à 30 participant(e)s par section. Les personnes qui termineront la formation avec succès recevront un certificat de reconnaissance de la Croix-Rouge canadienne et de l’Université d’Ottawa.

Les animateurs du cours sont des universitaires reconnus du Canada et de l’étranger ainsi que des praticiens du Ministère de la défense nationale et de Justice Canada.

Ce programme contient 2 heures de professionnalisme et contient également jusqu'à 28 heures et 45 minutes consacrées au droit de fond auprès du Barreau du Haut-Canada et du Barreau du Québec.

The University of Ottawa, the Human Rights Research and Education Centre, and the Canadian Red Cross are pleased to invite you to the 13th edition of the Summer School on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) that will be held from May 26^th to 31^st, 2019.

The goal of this course is to offer students and professionals the fundamentals of IHL and the opportunity to apply this knowledge through realistic case studies and a full simulation day.

Applications from students, academics, government employees, NGO and IO staff, journalists and those with an interest in learning about IHL are welcome. Preference will be given to participants with exposure to the application or the theory of international humanitarian law, international human rights law or humanitarian work.

The course is offered in both French and English. Applicants must choose the language in which they would like to follow the course and indicate it on their application form. Once an applicant is enrolled in a section, he/she will not be permitted to switch groups. Enrollment is limited to 30 participants by language group. Those who successfully complete the training will receive a certificate of recognition from the Canadian Red Cross and the University of Ottawa.

The Course features leading Canadian and international scholars and experts from the Department of National Defense and Justice Canada.

This program contains 2 Professionalism Hours and is also eligible for up to 28 hours and 45 minutes of Substantive Content with the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Barreau du Québec.
