FYI. Scott confirmed Aurora (Banner) would not work with this version of Firefox. Internet Explorer can be used in this case.

Hi Wei,

 

Yes Aurora (banner) will not launch now with this version of Firefox.  Firefox has suspended support of any website which uses the Java Run time plugin.

The alternative browser to use which still supports the Java plugin is Internet explorer, which is on all computers both for public and staff.

 

On a side note, Lean Library plugin for Firefox now launches with this newly deployed version.

I got requests from library staff. They would like you to clarify whether Aurora will be affected. If students have difficulties logging into Aurora via firefox, what browser can be used?

Mozilla Firefox Web Browser Upgrade

 

Please be advised that IST will be upgrading Mozilla Firefox browsers to version 60.2.0 ESR beginning at 12:00AM on Wednesday, September 26th, 2018.  To avoid any disruption of service, please restart your workstation prior to leaving the office and leave it at the login screen.

 

This upgrade will disable the use of Legacy Extensions and Add-ons.

 

Because of this, Java based sites such as Banner will no longer work in Firefox; 
Internet Explorer may be used as a workaround

 

If you require the use of a legacy version of Firefox, please contact the IT Service Desk.
