VR colleagues,

In order to increase online chatting security and focus resources on our prime user group (students, faculty and staff), we are going to implement an authentication layer to the AskUs widget. Therefore, UM users will need to log in with their UM email address. After logging in, users can start chatting with the VR team. The current pre-chat form will no longer be needed. The authentication will be using single-sign on with UM Active Directory.

With this change, online chatting will be only provided to UM students, faculty and staff. An enquiry link for Non UM users and visitors will be added to the AskUs widget under the “WRHA virtual library help” item.

We plan to make the change to the AskUs widget on Monday, August 22^nd.
