Hi everyone,
I hope you've all enjoyed the first few weeks of medical school! I wanted to update you all on the process and timeline of your class council elections. Nominations
begin today and will close September 22nd at 11:59pm.
The positions that are elected to the Med 1 class council are:
Each position is self-nominated. To nominate yourself, fill out the linked
Google Form, where you will indicate the position you are running for and a written platform of no more than 300 words (500-word max for those running for Class President).
Please note: Each candidate must run independently -- no candidates may run as a group/slate during the election (including for positions that have multiple representatives).
Prior to the start of the election period, there will be an option for a speech to outline your platform. Speeches must be no longer than 3 minutes (5 minutes for Class President nominees).
The timeline for the elections will be as follows:
September 11th - September 22nd at 11:59pm:

For ease of reading, I have included documents with the parts of MMSA’s Bylaws and Elections and Referendum Manual that are relevant to your class council’s election. These entire documents can be found on
the
MMSA website. I have also included a write up from each elected position/group on our council that provides a more detailed explanation of their duties and the initiatives they worked on last year.
Best of luck with the election If you have any questions about the procedures of the election or would like to connect with the Med 2s that currently serve in any of the positions mentioned, please don’t hesitate
to reach out to me!
Regards,
