Class of 2029,
There was a noticeable increase in absence requests received over the last couple of business days for
Wednesday, January 14 – particularly for the Indigenous Health session in the afternoon.
The
maximum number of students permitted to request an absence for
the same day has definitely been reached.
(See
Pre-Clerkship
Student Attendance Policy statement 3.9).
There is no further action required for those students who
have
received approval for requests in Entrada.
A significant number of requests (~25)
have been denied
as they were submitted after the class absence limit had been reached.
In cases of denied requests, we would strongly encourage you to make arrangements in order to attend tomorrow. If this is not possible,
please check the status of/messages attached to your request in Entrada and follow the instructions provided in the comment (also at the bottom of this message).
The remainder of your class should plan to attend your mandatory
session(s) that day:
Note that absences beyond the class limit for unanticipated or emergency reasons
can still be approved, but must be requested in Entrada under
PRE-CLERKSHIP – Exception (Student Affairs) for individual review.
Thank you,
Maggie Eade,
Pre-Clerkship Program Lead, UGME
