Dear Colleagues,
I am writing on behalf of my colleague, Robert Beattie, who has initiated a letter campaign advocating for increased research funding
in Manitoba. As an organization, MNN fully endorses this initiative and encourages all members to add their support by signing the letter through the form linked below.
Best regards,
Tabrez Siddiqui
Hello Everyone,
I hope you’re all enjoying a restful weekend. I’m writing to bring an important initiative to your attention.
Several colleagues and I have drafted a letter to the province requesting the restoration of funding to Research Manitoba. This follows
Premier Kinew’s announcement
on Friday regarding
efforts to recruit American researchers. While it’s encouraging to see recruitment prioritized, the absence of a corresponding budget increase is concerning.
We began collecting signatures this morning and would greatly appreciate your support. We would also welcome any feedback you may
have on the letter, and please feel free to share it with others who may be interested.
You can view and sign the letter here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XfLtlcIaKalvX0Bcm6Cv9GuGM5DcfscRviKEPJEoLk/edit?usp=sharing
Thanks so much for your consideration and have a wonderful Sunday!
Warm regards,
Robert

Subject: Manitoba Schools Science Symposium 2025!
Hello,
I would like to take this time to thank you for participating in the Manitoba Schools Science Symposium (MSSS) in previous years. The event is always a great success, thanks to
your generous support.
We are excited to share that MSSS will be in-person this year, back at our old location at the
Max Bell Center at the University of Manitoba! The dates for this year's date are Friday, April 11th -
Sunday, April 13th, 2025 at the Max Bell Center at the University of Manitoba (109 Sidney Smith Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 2M6).
Special Awards judging will be taking place on Saturday, April 12th from 9 AM - 12 PM. You are welcome to come
preview projects Friday evening, more information to follow.
More details regarding the specific judging for Special Awards will follow in the coming weeks, but as of right now, your organization will need to provide a judge. While
we do prefer judges to come in person, please let me know if there are any extenuating circumstances, and we can try to make arrangements.
Please reply to this email and fill out the linked form to
sponsor a Special Award, no later than April 1st, 2025 to confirm sponsorship of a Special Award.
Please note the following information regarding cheques and prizes:
53 Bibeau Bay
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
R2J 2A6
Cheques and prizes can be mailed or dropped off in person to the address notes above. Please ensure we receive these Cheques and Prizes no later than April 5th, 2025.
If you plan to bring the cheques/awards to the fair, please let me know! The MSSS Planning Committee will distribute the awards to the recipient(s), but you are welcome to attend the Awards Ceremony on April 13th in the afternoon. Please indicate
if you would like to attend.
We understand that you may have questions about how the event is going to look this year. The Planning Committee is hard at work to finalize details. Please feel free to contact
us if you have any questions.
If this is misdirected, please pass on to the appropriate person.
Again, thank you so much for your ongoing support. Your support is greatly appreciated to help make MSSS 2025 a success and to encourage budding young scientists across the province. We
look forward to working with you for the Manitoba Schools Science Symposium 2025!
Sincerely,
Tooba Razi
