Hello everyone. This email serves as a reminder that October 1 is the deadline for the UM General Bursary program. Students apply through AURORA using the UM General Bursary application.

Important!

Fall 2023 and Winter 2024 registration (minimum of 9 credit hours in each term) is required to be eligible for consideration. Students who do not show both Fall and Winter registration in AURORA at the October 1 deadline will not be eligible for bursaries.

If you are selected as a recipient of a bursary, the funds will be automatically applied to your Winter 2024 tuition.

Happy Wednesday!
Marie

Subject: UM General Bursary application --> October 1 deadline

Hello new and returning students in the College of Nursing!

This email contains information regarding the Fall/Winter General Bursary program offered through the campus Financial Aid and Awards office.

Every year, the University of Manitoba offers a wide range of bursaries to both new and continuing full-time and part-time students who have a demonstrated financial need and a minimum academic standing. The average value of bursaries range in amounts from $400 to $1,000, with over $14 million awarded annually.

There are donors who have specifically donated funds to Bachelor of Nursing students. You can read about them here.

It is important to know only students who are registered in Fall 2023 and Winter 2024 terms with a minimum of 9 credit hours (in each term) are considered for bursaries.  If you have been given course registration info for Winter 2024 and not yet registered, please take action and register.

If you are allocated bursary funding, the amounts will be applied to Winter 2024 tuition in AURORA. This typically happens in mid-November.

Questions about the bursary application and/or eligibility should be directed to the Financial Aid & Awards office – 422 University Centre

Last note – if you submit your bursary application and then go back and revisit it, you must resubmit it.

Best wishes,

Marie
