Hello Everyone,

Please see below for information on an upcoming workshop hosted by the Sexual Violence Resource Centre:

The Sexual Violence Resource Centre (SVRC) provides support, education, resources and referral services for any student, faculty or staff member who has been affected by sexual violence. Supports offered at the SVRC are trauma-informed and survivor-centered. We can help with assessing needs, clarifying options, identifying next steps, and coordinating a plan to support you. All services offered by the SVRC are confidential.

We are pleased to share that we’ve added an additional student session of Responding to Sexual Violence Disclosures to be held virtually on Tuesday, November 21^st from 4:30 – 7:00 pm on ZOOM. This session is open to all UM students!

During the session staff from the Sexual Violence Resource Centre (SVRC) will provide information on the impacts of sexual violence and different services offered by the SVRC. Attendees will be provided guidance on how to provide compassionate and supportive responses when receiving a disclosure of sexual violence. There will be opportunities to apply what is learned to different case examples and to practice confidentiality statements. This presentation is designed to be interactive - questions are encouraged!
