Hello students,

I hope your semester is going well so far!

I wanted to reach out to you all and talk about cleanliness in our lounges. The student lounge is a shared space utilized by hundreds of students, and it’s crucial that we maintain its cleanliness and tidiness. Recently, some of our dedicated NSA members have been washing dishes and picking up wrappers/garbage left behind by others. We believe it’s a collective responsibility to keep the space clean.

That being said, it’s important to keep our lounge clean because of a new project we’ve been working on for the past few months. We are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with Harvest Manitoba to implement a new community pantry project on the main floor student lounge! This initiative by the Nursing Students Association aims to foster a sense of community and support among us, making sure that nursing students do not have to face food insecurity.

As we introduce our new community pantry in the main floor student lounge, we want to emphasize the importance of considerate usage. While the pantry and fridge are here to provide support and sustenance, it’s crucial that we maintain a balance and be mindful of those in need.

We kindly request that everyone refrains from hoarding food and taking an excessive amount home. Let’s prioritize sharing and consider the needs of our fellow students who may rely on the community pantry for their meals. By being considerate in our usage, we can ensure that everyone has equal access to this resource.

Let’s work together to ensure the community pantry and the entire student lounge remain neat and organized. Dispose of waste properly, clean up after using the kitchen, and be mindful of others sharing this space. By doing so, we can create a pleasant and welcoming environment for all.
