Dear Professor Dr Nicole Harder,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Mahsa Nouri, and I hold a master’s degree in nursing from Zanjan University of Medical Sciences, Iran. I am reaching out to express my interest in joining your research group as a graduate student.

My academic and research background has centered around pain acceptance and strategies for pain management which is used by cancer patients. My master's thesis, which has been published in an Iranian peer-reviewed journal of Preventive Care in Nursing and Midwifery Journal, is titled “Investigating Pain Acceptance and Pain Self-Management Behaviors in Cancer Patients Referred to the Oncology Wards of Vali-e-Asr and Mousavi Hospitals of Zanjan in 2021.” Currently, I work as an instructor and lecturer in Zanjan Azad University and have the clinical experience of working in different hospitals for four years (Neonatal Ward, Pediatric Ward, and ICU).

In addition to my thesis, I have contributed to two systematic review articles: one examining COVID-19 risk perception and its outcomes in vulnerable populations which has been published in Preventive Care in Nursing and Midwifery Journal, and another exploring the impact of bibliotherapy on individuals with autism spectrum disorder that has been published in Iran Journal of Nursing.

It would be a great privilege to pursue my PhD under your mentorship. I am deeply inspired by your pioneering work on psychologically safe debriefing following expected and unexpected deaths in simulation, as well as your commitment to addressing racism through culturally diverse simulation and debriefing experiences. Your efforts to develop coping and resiliency strategies in new healthcare practitioners resonate strongly with my research interests. I would be honored to contribute to your research and tutorial team as I seek PhD opportunities abroad.

Attached is my CV for your consideration. I would be very grateful if you could let me know if there may be an opportunity to pursue graduate studies in your lab. Thank you sincerely for your time and consideration.

I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Mahsa Nouri
