Hi OER Group members,

Some of you will already be aware that significant one-time funding has been allocated in the UM’s 2023-2024 budget to support the use of open educational resources (OER) at UM. I want to share some upcoming funding opportunities that have been established using these funds. With your interest in OER, I wanted to make sure you were aware of these opportunities – apologies for any cross-posting.

Advance Open Ed 2023-24 provides financial and practical support along with educational opportunities to help the UM community create, adapt, and adopt open educational resources adopt OER. You can read our recent UM Today story to learn more.

Financial and practical supports include:

• $10,000 grants to create, adapt, and/or adopt an open educational resource. Apply by September 29, 2023 for first consideration.
• Additional non-financial support can be provided to grant awardees from the OER Lab, at no additional cost to applicants.
• $500 grants to peer-review an existing open educational resource in your subject area.
• Grants to cover the cost of attending one of two upcoming OER conferences this Fall.
