Are researchers/students/technicians happy with the current special soil mix provided of 40% topsoil /40% sand /20% Peat?
The soil elevator in the greenhouse has been out of commission for the last two years but is expected to be renovated and available
for use again by March 31. In the past, people have made their desired soil mix with the topsoil, sand and peat moss which
has been available in the soil mixing room. While the elevator has been out of commission,
we have supplied bulk bags of a special soil mix - 40% topsoil /40% sand /20% peat. In the future, we are considering
filling the soil bins with this special mix only. This
mix could be lightened with the available peat or perlite.

Vinuri Weerasinghe for winning 1st prize in the Plant Pathology category (oral presentation).
