Dear all U
of M students,
As you may
be aware, when you graduate from a post-secondary institution and live
and work
in Manitoba you are eligible for a rebate on tuition paid after
December 31,
2003. Manitoba Finance and the Canada Revenue Agency require
the
University of Manitoba to send your T2202A tax receipt information to
them each
year to verify your
eligibility for this rebate. Your consent is required for the
University of Manitoba to begin submitting this information on your
behalf. Consent is required only once. T2202A information for 2010
will be sent in early 2011.
To provide your consent, log into Aurora Student
and go to
Enrolment & Academic Records |Declarations | Declare Consent for
Release of
T2202A Tax Receipt Information. Read
the information carefully and either consent or decline to have your
information sent to Manitoba Finance and the Canada Revenue
Agency in support of the tuition tax
credit. If you choose to decline, your T2202A receipt
information will
not be forwarded to Manitoba Finance and the Canada Revenue Agency.
If you do
not respond by June 30, 2010 you will be required to do so the next
time you
log in to register or to access
your grades. The Hold that prevents you from registering or viewing
grades will
be removed immediately after you respond and you may proceed
immediately
without further delay. i.e. you will not have to log again.
