The annual monitoring program for bertha armyworm using pheromone traps began the week of June 10 and will continue until late July. The number of bertha armyworm moths captured in the
pheromone traps serves as an estimate of local risk and can help farmers know when to scout canola crops for larvae using the bertha armyworm monitoring protocol.

Four agricultural champions from across Canada have been selected to be inducted into the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame Association (CAHFA) in 2024. Dr. Bruce Coulman, Dr. Michael
Eskin, Paul Larmer and Dr. Charles Vincent will be formally inducted on November 2 at a ceremony during the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, Ontario.
