Subject: Symposium Invitation

Greetings,

I would like to extend a formal invitation for you to be a part of the 31st Annual Plant Science Graduate Student Symposium. It will take place March 13th and 14th here at the University of Manitoba. This event brings together graduate students from prairie plant science departments, including the University of Saskatchewan, North Dakota State University, and South Dakota State University. It looks to be two exciting days of sharing research, discussing ideas, and socializing.

We hope that everyone will both attend and present at the symposium. For Friday we have sessions planned that relate to our theme “Growing Skills and Harvesting Change”. Friday afternoon and evening we’ll head to downtown Winnipeg for tours and supper. Saturday will bring the symposium component. Everyone is encouraged to present; there is a category for all students, including a “Proposals” section for new students. We will conclude the symposium with a semi-formal banquet on Saturday evening.

Please check out our new website: http://home.cc.umanitoba.ca/~amarascc/index.html. It will be updated as we confirm more details. On the home page you’ll find a registration form on the left hand side. Please take a couple minutes to register for this event. The registration deadline is January 31st and abstracts are due by February 14th.

Please don’t hesitate to ask myself or another member of the Plant Science Graduate Student Association if you have any questions pertaining to the symposium.

Lori
