7th.

We highly encourage all the graduate students especially new ones to take part in the nominations by nominating themselves or others.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your networking and leadership skills within our community.

Hello all PS graduate students,
We will be holding an election for available Plant Science Graduate Student Association (PSGSA) positions from
June 10th - 12th, with
nominations open from May 30th - June 7th
You can choose to nominate yourself or be nominated by someone else. Available positions are as follows:

Vice President - supports president in all duties including social and professional events, responsible for delegating and taking over presidential duties when unavailable, leads in planning Graduate Student Info Day for undergrads

Treasurer- one of two people with signing authority for PSGSA bank account, maintains a detailed log of PSGSA expenditures and deposits, reviews and approves all expenditures, maintains a small amount of petty cash on-hand, aid president in grant applications

UMGSA Rep - Represents PS graduate students at the University level, secure departmental grants for graduate student events and workshops, attend UMGSA council meetings, member of an internal UMGSA committee

Department Council Rep 1/Safety Committee Rep - liaison between department/faculty and graduate students, attend all department meetings (shared with seminar committee rep), record all student issues and concerns during PSGSA meetings (confidential) and report
at department council meeting, keep PSGSA informed of departmental and safety issues, attend all safety committee meetings, aid in organization of annual safety seminar

Seminar Committee Rep/Department Council Rep 2 - ensure either rep attends all department council meetings, actively contact Plant Science Department Seminar Committee, attend all seminar committee meetings and present student input/ideas/feedback, regularly
update potential speakers/alumni list, ensure grad student participation at seminar

Social Co-ordinator - works alongside a second social co-ordinator to plan social and fundraising events for PSGSA and department wide social events, plan seasonal events, responsible for PSGSA social media, responsible for PSGSA clothing/merch sale

Plant Science Graduate Student Symposium Chair - take the lead in planning Plant Science Graduate Student Symposium (typically held in March), delegate tasks related to symposium to other PSGSA members, work with two Department of Plant Science advisors (professors
or PDF's) in planning event
