The governments of Canada and Manitoba are providing more than $2 million to the Enterprise Machine Intelligence and Learning Initiative (EMILI) for Advancing Digital Agriculture Opportunities.
The funding was announced at the grand opening of the Innovation Farms Centre. The centre is part of EMILI’s Innovation Farms Project, a 5,500-acre full-scale farming operation where they demonstrate and promote new processes and technologies.

The Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) booth at Ag in Motion (AIM) in Saskatchewan this year featured the newest Canadian durum variety, scheduled to be in producer's hands for 2027.
It's the first registered durum variety DT2033 with ergot resistance and intermediate-level resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB).

A research project, conducted in 2021 and 2022, at three locations in Saskatchewan explored the effects of lentil seeding rates and subsequent plant densities on competition with weeds,
disease, yield and grain quality, in addition to the agronomic response to foliar fungicide applications. It also explored the most profitable combinations of seeding rates and foliar fungicide application strategies for lentils under a range of Saskatchewan
growing conditions.
