Dear fellow graduate students,

We are hosting the 34th Annual Plant Science Graduate Student Symposium (PSGSS) on March 16-17, 2018. This two-day long conference is designed to bring together graduate students in agriculture from three prairie universities (University of Manitoba, University of Saskatchewan and North Dakota State University). We are also planning to invite students from neighboring universities such as University of Alberta, South Dakota State University. The theme of this symposium will be "Cultivating the Field of Big Data". Symposium will consist of presentations from three keynote speakers, student oral presentation competitions, one panel discussion related to the career development, an afternoon city tour and one networking banquet. The symposium will be a great opportunity for our graduate students to gain international exposure, network with their peers, form collaborations, and develop communication skills in a comfortable yet competitive setting.

This symposium will be the representation of our all plant science graduate students and overall department. We are currently in planning phase for the symposium and need lots of your helps and efforts.

The PSGSA has formed the following sub-committees lead by two executive members to facilitate the symposium event planning and to encourage all graduate students involvement. We are expecting at least 5 members in each sub-committee. Students are highly encouraged to involve in more than one sub-committees, depending on your schedule and interest. Please let me or Jon or sub-committee executives know if you are interested in specific sub-committee before Oct 10th (Tuesday). We will also have sign up sheet in lunch room that you can fill up.
