To all faculty, students, and community organizations conducting health research:
The Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) is launching its annual
PREPPP (Preparing for Research by Engaging Patient and Public Partners)
Award for pre-grant engagement of patients and the public in health research. There are
five awards of $4,000 each available to Manitoba researchers, community organizations, and/or students
who are planning to engage with people with lived experience (patients, caregivers, parents, families, communities, advocates, and members of the public) in the research design and grant development phase of their work.
To date, the PREPPP Award has funded early engagement for 39 projects, many of which have gone on to win larger grants and continue to engage with patient and public partners throughout their research. Some have also participated as presenters
for CHI’s Patient and Public Engagement Lunchtime Learning series. Information about previous winners, eligibility, and the
application form can be viewed at www.chimb.ca/preppp.
Applications will be accepted until 5:00 pm on November 9th, 2021.
