The Winnipeg Foundation Martha Donovan Fund provides leadership development opportunities for women (including trans women and non-binary people) in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences
at the University of Manitoba. Over the next two years, $50,000 will be made available annually.
If you're a woman who is a student, post-doc or resident, or a full- or part-time academic faculty member, you can apply until Monday, June 1, 2026.
How to apply
Complete the online
application form.
In addition to the application, you must supply a curriculum vitae and a letter of support from the faculty member’s department head/college dean or the student’s/post-doctoral trainee’s program director or supervisor, including acknowledgement of potential
absences, as required, to participate in the course/program of choice.
Potential for funding
The maximum award will be $10,000 for Faculty members and $5000 for students, and may be less. Applicants must develop their proposed budgets with these figures in mind and provide a detailed budget justification.
*Postdoctoral fellows fall under the student category and are only eligible for the $5,000 maximum award.
Support is provided for the direct costs of academic leadership development opportunities. All items must be essential to the completion of this training. Expenses will not be eligible for support if these are incurred prior to the fund start date. There should
be no overlap with existing funds – The Winnipeg Foundation Martha Donovan Leadership Fund is not intended for top-up of existing funding requests.
More details on eligibility requirements and terms of reference are available on the
website.
