Dear Research Facilitators,

As promised, I am sharing the email below with full details and registration information for the Best Practices in Research Management Workshop Series 2025/26.

Please feel free to share this with faculty members in your unit. If you are interested in attending any sessions yourself, you are welcome to do so by completing the registration form.

Today, we held the first session in the series,
Research Security, and it went very well. Each session is offered twice, so if you are specifically interested in attending the Research Security session, you can register for the second date.

Thank you,
Mariam

This message is sent on behalf of Dr. Annemieke Farenhorst, Associate Vice-President (Research)

Dear ADRs/RLOs,

The Office of the Associate Vice President (Research) invites faculty to join the Best Practices in Research Management Workshop Series.

All new faculty members are encouraged to enroll in this workshop series, and we also encourage you to circulate this more broadly within your faculty because any of the sessions offered can serve as a valuable refresher for those looking to revisit best practices in research management.

The Series consists of 4 core and 4 optional sessions as shown below. You may register in only 1 session, as per your interest and needs. All sessions will be conducted virtually through Microsoft Teams. Each session will be offered twice a year to give participants the flexibility to choose the date that works best for them.

If a participant attends four core sessions and one optional session over a two-year period, they will receive a completion letter that could be included in a tenure and promotion file as an example of professional growth in research management.

If you are interested in registering for one or more sessions, please complete the online registration form. When you are registered, we will be able to keep you informed about the sessions as needed, including session links and presentation slides.

Should there be any questions or need for further information, please feel free to email us at AVP.Research@umanitoba.ca

Below is a list of the series sessions:

CORE SESSIONS

OPTIONAL SESSIONS

Many thanks and I am looking forward to seeing you at one or more sessions!

Kind regards, Annemieke
