Advancing climate science: A Horizon Europe matchmaking event (Online)

Join us on November 6 for a virtual matchmaking event for draft 2026 Cluster 5 calls (Climate, Energy and Mobility) under Horizon Europe. This event will bring together researchers and innovators across multiple time zones from Canada, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and New Zealand to forge new collaborations and share expertise in polar climate research.

This event focuses on a specific set of Horizon Europe calls (Cluster 5, Destination 1) from the draft 2026-2027 Work Programme. These topics address critical knowledge gaps and aim to advance our understanding of a changing climate, with a particular focus on the high-latitude regions and their global impacts. Other European researchers and innovators with relevant expertise are also welcome to attend and pitch.

Event Details

Event Format

The virtual matchmaking event will begin with an overview from each of the host nations, highlighting their key research priorities and capacities. The session will then break into dedicated virtual rooms for each call. This will be your opportunity to provide your three-minute pitch to potential partners.

Participants can present their projects and organization. Your pitch should clearly articulate your expertise and how you can contribute to a consortium for a specific call. Participating organizations are also welcome to observe.

Calls for Collaboration

We are inviting researchers and innovators with relevant expertise on the following calls:

Submission Details

If you are planning to pitch, please include your preferred call, a 200-word summary of your pitch, and your contact information when you register. You may also submit one slide to support your pitch. Please submit your slide to horizoneurope@ised-isde.gc.ca by November 1.

Please note: By submitting your pitch and contact information, organizers and event participants may contact you to provide event updates and facilitate matchmaking discussions.

Your data will be processed securely and will only be used for purposes you have explicitly agreed to, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time.
