Subject: Reminder: Complete your mandatory anti-racism by December 31, 2025

This message is being sent on behalf of Human Resources and Tina Chen, Vice-Provost (Equity)
Dear Colleagues,
As we approach the end of the calendar year, this message serves as an important reminder to complete the
Government of Manitoba’s mandatory anti-racism training by December 31, 2025. All university employees including full-time and part-time faculty and staff are required to complete the Government of Manitoba’s annual anti-racism training, in accordance
with provincial legislation.
The foundational anti-racism course is available in UM Learn and takes approximately two to three hours to complete. The interactive course includes slides, videos, resources, and an optional self-reflection journal.
Completion of this training is automatically recorded in VIP. Once employees complete this foundational course, they can fulfil the annual training requirement in future years by either repeating this course or completing the UM Continuing
Anti-Racism Training plus self-reported completion of a UM anti-racism learning opportunity. Full details on this option will be communicated in early 2026.
