Dialogue and Desire by Debbie Patterson

Thursday, December 8^th, 2022 from 12 - 2 PM CT

Folks are invited to attend this workshop by Winnipeg playwright, composer, director and actor Debbie Patterson. Patterson trained at the National Theatre School of Canada and is the former Artistic Director of the Popular Theatre Alliance of Manitoba (PTAM). In this workshop, we’ll look at how to write active dialogue, whether you’re writing a script or using dialogue as part of a prose narrative. By playing close attention to the character’s desires, we can drive the story forward through active dialogue. How do we ask for what we want? What makes it hard to ask? How do we ask without asking?
