Artists
and art-lovers who identify as BIPOC are invited to an online gathering featuring guest panelists, Hassaan Ashraf & Bella Luna moderated by Ekene Maduka, to talk about the work in an upcoming in-person exhibition entitled
Care at MAWA
(June 16th to July 9th)
and the issues it raises. The
panel will explore both the possibilities and limits of regarding artmaking as a type of research, particularly within anti-colonial, anti-racist practices. Please email

Join us in celebrating the opening of
Care an in-person exhibition of works through microgrants showing at MAWA (611 Main Street) from
the 16th of June till the 9th of July 2021. The Gallery will be accessible Wednesdays & Fridays from

s t 17, edited by UMIH Research Affiliate Dr. Melanie Dennis Unrau on the theme of petropoetics.
The poets featured in this issue are oil workers, relatives of oil workers,
residents of the oil patch or the petrostate, activists, environmentalists, cultural workers, researchers,
concerned citizens, and artists. Dr. Unrau has also been generous
