There are no script commands as such that you can add to a .epx file. That's coming.
It really is best to stick with the options available in Manager to edit the properties of a field. Or are you referring to startup options?

It would be good to see an example of what you want to have appear in the Entry screen. You can certainly show the possible values to enter in one or more information elements near to an entry field. Along with the popup for value labels, this could be useful and you can position the information lines so that they are not hidden by the pop up box. If that is what you mean.

I think there will soon be a link to the Epidata wiki, where interested users can start adding documentation to help others.
