Today at Senate I shared with colleagues that the University of Manitoba has accepted the report titled University of Manitoba Indigenous Senior Leadership: Report and Recommendations to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), prepared by a committee chaired by Dr. Catherine Cook, Vice-Dean Indigenous, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences.
We are acting promptly on the recommendations, beginning with the approval last week at the Board of Governors to move forward with the establishment of a Vice-President (Indigenous) position.
