Harvard Medical School releases iPhone app to protect against swine flu
01:01 PM PT, Oct 26 2009
Hot on the heels of President Obama declaring a national emergency
over the rapidly spreading swine flu virus (a.k.a. H1N1), Harvard
Medical School has released a handy new iPhone app that will alert you
to outbreaks in your area. What a great idea, and coming from a
trusted medical school, this might get some serious traction in the
iTunes app store.
The HMSMobile Swine Flu Center app includes video, animation and text
about how to avoid H1N1 and methods of protecting your home and
workplace from an outbreak. The app also provides real-time updates
from the Harvard Medical School.
For all of you hypochondriacs, there is even an interactive guide to
H1N1 symptoms (Yellow eyes? Nope, you've got jaundice!) and a "hot
line" guide to finding medical treatment in your area.
