Subject: [Nursing-bn-students] Upcoming BLS Renewal Sessions
Hello U of M nursing family,
I have received quite a few emails in regard to BLS renewal courses. NSA will be collaborating with the first aide training center to offer discounted courses at 55$ a student! I encourage you to book with us as some of the proceeds go towards NSA so we can offer lots of fun events for you all.
We are currently working on finalizing the dates for the end of April and all throughout May. These BLS renewal courses tend to book up quickly, so make sure to check your email for information regarding registration in the upcoming days.
If you have any questions, do not reply to this email and forward your questions to nsa.cpr.info(a)gmail.com. Best of luck on exams and happy studying!
Cheers,
Judah Chepil (he/him)

Dear Midwifery Leaners,
This is a reminder to recertify your CPR at the Health Care Provider Level (HCP) during the months of April or May, regardless of the expiry date noted on your CPR card. Proof of your recertification must be emailed to nursing(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:nursing@umanitoba.ca> no later than June 1st, 2024. No exceptions.
* Note - Students registered in clinical in Summer Term are encouraged to submit their CPR by May 1st (including Midwifery Learners)
* If you are graduating after Winter Term (May 2024 Grads), you do not need to submit proof of CPR recertification.
* The NSA often offers CPR courses in April and May. Please watch for more information from the NSA. Participating in these classes will help support the NSA as they receive a portion from our CPR Partner for each sign-up!
Please include CPR and your full name and student number in the subject of your email.
Submitting your documents on time means that you will be able to register during the initial registration period, provided you do not have other holds on your record. Students who do not submit the documents on time will be prevented from registering for courses until late August, which may result in you not obtaining space in some of your courses.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please email Candice Lagasse @ nursing(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:nursing@umanitoba.ca>
PLEASE DO NOT CERTIFY BEFORE APRIL 1, 2024
Please do not reply all to this email.
Thank you and have a great day!

I respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, I acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and I dedicate myself to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
Hello Midwifery Staff & Students,
I want to share some information about anti-choice planned protests on Fort Garry campus this week.
The Centre for Human Rights Research has provided the following information:
This week, there will be large anti-choice groups on campus in front of University Centre for several days:
* Monday, Mar 25th at 2:45 - 5:00pm
* Tuesday, Mar 26th from 2:30 - 4:45pm
* Wednesday, Mar 27th from 1:30 - 3:30pm.
The Women's Centre on campus has let students know and are offering their space as a safe space. They are also able to assist if students need someone to accompany them to pass the group. Women's Centre also have supplies for poster making for those standing against this group.
