Subject: Green Investment Fund
Hello FAFS staff, academics, PDFs/RAs and graduate students:
The University of Manitoba is looking for ideas to help the institution attain its net zero emissions goal by 2050.
A Green Investment Fund has been created to spark community involvement in helping attain this goal, while also seeking to promote collaboration among students, faculty, and staff.
The Fund has a competition for project ideas that will demonstrate the ability to generate revenue or save on costs associated with emissions reductions. Funding requests for the Fund are for a minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $50,000.
More details can be found at:
https://umanitoba.ca/sustainability/green-investment-fund
The deadline for submissions is December 22, 2023.
An online information session will be held on November 9, 2023, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. where you can learn more. Link is on webpage above.

Hello,
As described in the attached, EarthFresh are recruiting a potato breeder whose primary role will be leading the development of potato varieties suited to the Atlantic Region of Canada. Resistance to potato wart will naturally be one of the key varietal selection criteria.
Let me know if you have any questions, or suggestions on specific people or organizations that I should approach.
Thank you
Martin
