Hi Everyone,
The safety committee of Plant Science is looking into restocking the first aid kits in our department. It would be really helpful if you can all give me your inputs as to what your needs are and what you like to be added into the kit depending on the last year's usage by 5th February (Monday).
Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Parneet

Hello Everyone
The Safety group had been asked to provide more information regarding chemical spill clean-ups.
The attached power point slide is a video giving a good demonstration of how to clean up a chemical spill (you will need to "enable content" on the slide to play the video). The chemical spill portion of the video is about three and a half minutes, the video then goes on to show radioactive and biological spill procedures.
Also attached is a reference guide from EHSO for chemical spill clean-up.
Remember that chemical waste must be disposed of through EHSO.
The UM safe app also has contact information and support for Chemical spills.

Following Paula's retirement, in order to facilitate within department communication of any issues/maintenance related to the new autoclave and to be the go-between for department and the company, Puneet was asked to be our point-person. As such, to streamline our communications, we would like to have any reporting to the department or the company to come through Puneet.

The University of Manitoba campuses are located on original lands of Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation.
