Dear Health Graduate Students and Post-Docs ,
You entered this field with pure altruism - to make the world a better place through scientific insights, finding a cure or therapy... in stewardship of the uniqueness of your genius. But let's face it, a bit of recognition and positive mouth-feel help keep the vision alive.
Speaking of which... Research Days (aka Canadian Student Health Research Forum, CSHRF) is (are) coming and it's time to get your (research) stuff together... write an abstract... make a poster... strut your stuff! (you know the drill)
The Manitoba Health Research Poster Competition happens June 11, but we need the abstracts by March 15.
Here's the deal: everyone (participants, that is) wins (experience, exposure, feedback, networking), receives free food and tours (and the other fun events, too) and yes, there are prizes.
The first step is to submit an abstract... http://umanitoba.ca/outreach/conferences/research_days/mb_competition.html

Ps Pass the word along!
The Manitoba Health Research Poster Competition (June 11) for graduate students is a great venue for students from across the health spectrum (Animal Science to zoologists... as broad as the CIHR mandate) to gain practice in presentation, receive feedback from experienced judges (awards of excellence are also available), and network with students from across the breadth of health research, both here and nationally. The opportunities for networking within the Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF) are broad, from social events (June 13) such as a social evening and dinner and tours... the broad-spectrum symposium by Gairdner laureates (June 14) and meeting with CIHR leadership for a workshop on Career Development (June 12).
And it's all free for participants, so I'd encourage you consider this opportunity and to pass the message along to your colleagues. For more information please see:
