Dear Theatre Students,
We are requesting the participation of up to 10 student actors in a study looking at the characteristics of maternal speech. You do NOT need to have real-world experience with children to participate. The study would require about 1 hour of your time, and would involve your reading two series of sentences, one as if you were addressing an adult and one as if you were addressing an infant. You would be compensated $50 for your participation in the study. Your decision to participate or not will have no consequences for your academic progress – the Theatre department will not be informed about your choice to participate or not. This research is approved by the Psychology-Sociology Research Ethics Board.
