Midwifery Program Update - Fall 2027
Hello,
My name is Lauren and I am the Academic Advisor for the midwifery program. I am connecting today to let you know about the recent changes to the admission requirements for the Midwifery program that was approved by Senate in May.
Beginning Fall 2027, the following courses will no longer be required for admission to the midwifery program:
CHEM 1100 CHEM 1110
A note has been added to the current admission bulletinhttps://umanitoba.ca/explore/undergraduate-admissions/requirements/midwifery online under Section 10, but the changes will not be reflected in the bulletin until fall.

Total credit hours for admission is 24 credits per the above. I wanted to share this update with you as soon as possible so that you can incorporate it into your advising conversations with prospective students. Please share with other staff who may also be working with students interested in midwifery. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the change or its implementation.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our students.
Best,
