Mental Health First Aid
Date: October 14th and 15th 9:00 am – 1:00 pm each day. Cost: $200 per participant
Course Description:
Mental Health First Aid courses aim to improve mental health literacy and provide the skills and knowledge to help people better manage potential or developing mental health problems in themselves, a family member, a friend, or a colleague.
The MHFA Supporting Youth In-Person (Blended) course consists of three modules:
* Module 1 is a self-directed online learning that must be completed prior to the first classroom session. This module takes 1-2 hours to complete. * Modules 2 & 3 are in-person classroom sessions running 9am – 1pm on October 14th and 15th.
Please note that space is limited, and participation in all 3 modules is required to receive the certificate.
SafeTALK
Date: October 29th 9:00 am – 1:00 pm Cost: $100 per participant
Course Description: LivingWorks SafeTALK is a half-day (4 hour), in-person, certificate workshop that empowers learners to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, how to talk with them directly, and help connect them to appropriate resources and support. Through hands-on practice and guided learning, learners will build the confidence to have open, honest conversations that can make all the difference.
SafeTALK workshops are open to all staff and faculty. (Note: Individuals who have already completed ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) or who have similar suicide intervention skills may not benefit from this content.
