We are excited to invite you to the 2026 Undergraduate Research Showcase (URS)https://umanitoba.ca/research/opportunities-support/undergraduate-research-showcase. Join us on Thursday, October 22, 2026, to showcase your summer research, connect with fellow student researchers, and compete for a share of $7,500 in cash prizes!

NEW! This year, alongside the Oral Presentation Stream and Poster Presentation Stream, both hosted in the Multi-Purpose Room in University Centre, we are excited to introduce a new Innovation Stream. This stream will provide interested students with an opportunity to share the entrepreneurial and innovation potential of their projects and ideas in an elevator pitch style presentation. The Innovation Stream will be hosted by IDEA STARThttps://umanitoba.ca/ideastart in the new IDEA START space in University Centre (Room 151, 1st Floor) and will feature an audience and judges dedicated to foster innovation, creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship.

Who Can Register? All UM undergraduate students who meet the following criteria are welcome to participate:

* Currently enrolled at UM or graduated in Spring 2026, as long as your research was completed during your undergraduate studies. * On track to complete a UM undergraduate degree. * Supervised by a UM-affiliated researcher (e.g., through URA, NSERC USRA, or similar programs). * Students in Honours thesis programs or special Honours courses are also eligible.

Presentation Categories Choose the category that best fits your research:

* Applied Sciences * Health Sciences * Natural Sciences * Social Sciences and Humanities * Creative Works

Please note that, for the Innovation Stream, all categories will be evaluated together as one judging pool. Categories will not be judged separately, as they are in the Oral and Poster Presentation Streams.
