Dear UM Bannatyne and Fort Garry campus community,
Manitoba government has decided to remain on daylight saving time (DST) permanently.
As a result, clocks at both the Fort Garry and Bannatyne campuses may display a time that is one hour ahead of the actual time.
Please note that clock displays on campus will need to be physically reset, and it will take time to reach every clock in every building and room. We will prioritize clock adjustments, as appropriate, in areas where accurate timekeeping is particularly important. To avoid confusion, we ask you in the month of November to:
* Rely on the time shown on your computer, smartphone or other connected device if a nearby clock appears to be an hour off. * Double-check start and end times for classes, exams, meetings, appointments and other time-sensitive commitments. * Keep in mind that clocks in classrooms, labs, offices and common areas may not be accurate until they have been changed. If you find a clock showing the incorrect time, please submit a maintainX requesthttps://umanitoba.sharepoint.com/sites/um-intranet-facilities/SitePages/maintenance-requests.aspx.
Our crews are working diligently to complete them all. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to update all campus clocks.
