Dear Doug:
Definitely our Dept. will be interested. Once I find out how many copies we need, I will notify you (it will be between 10 to 20 copies). Question: If we purchase now for 10.3, how do we get hold a copy of it when it is released?

Hello Everyone:
Some of you have questions regarding the AMP program:
1. Do students qualify for AMP? The AMP is specifically designed for Institutions and not individuals, this includes staff systems where their computer was purchased using personal money (i.e. not paid for with University funds, either budgetary or grant).
2. Under AMP, how are Mac OS CDs obtained? Additional CDs for the Mac OS can be obtained through the Computers-on-Campus. Further, document sets can also be ordered as well.
3. What if you need more licences after the AMP has been started? Additional licence cannot be added to any existing AMP. A new AMP must be started, for those few systems the cost will be higher because there are price breaks at 100 and 1000 seat levels. The minimum order for AMP is for 10 systems. While it is still cost effect to buy into AMP at $158 for each system, rather than buying retail boxed versions of the Mac OS, it will still be more than the initial AMP we are trying to start (at $124 for each system). The reason is, we will most likely be able to achieve a count of 100+ systems, and will therefore be able to purchase AMP at a lower price.
4. How is AMP being monitored? AMP licences will be monitored by Computers-on-Campus in the same way that Microsoft Office has been. Staff will show their staff card, and sign for their licence and for any installation CDs they require. As for software security against piracy, there are features in place to minimize this possibility.
I know this all seems rather nebulous, but that is usually the case when it comes to software licencing agreements.
If anyone has an further questions, please contact me.
Regards, Doug
