Yesterday, Apple automatically pushed an update to their "File Quarantine" (aka Xprotect) anti-malware daemon, in response to the new variant of the Trojan / Ransomware "OSX.MacDefender".
For those who don't know, "File Quarantine" was first released with introduction of Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) in August 2009 but has been included is subsequent updates to Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
