Step by Step: Walk for Wellness Challenge (please forward)
Hello Winnipeg Workplaces,
Winnipeg in motion is inviting ALL Winnipeg workplaces to register their workplace and take part in the Step by Step: Walk for Wellness Challenge - a new pedometer based program designed to help your workplace add more physical activity and healthy eating to their day! We are encouraging workplaces to start their Challenge on March 31, 2008 and be included in the Winnipeg in motion spring campaign promoting walking for good health.
Workplaces that register their Challenge will receive Winnipeg in motion prizes that can be used for incentives for teams to register early, for weekly prize draws, or for any sort of incentive that you wish. At this point we aren't sure how many of each item we can provide - it will depend on how many workplaces register and the amount of participants per workplace. I have attached three sample emails that you may (or not) want to modify and use to help build awareness and promote your Challenge. All sample emails (7) will be available on the website. There are also a couple sample posters on the website that you can also use to help promote your Challenge - There is space for you to include information on your Challenge and appropriate contact information. On the bottom of the poster you can include your workplace logo - I have attached some instructions if you aren't sure how to do this.
Once the Challenge begins we will be looking for weekly updates from each Workplace that we can include in our weekly newsletter update that will be circulated to all workplaces taking part in the Challenge!! It is a great opportunity for workplaces to showcase all the 'stepping' that your employees are taking for better health! If you would like to be included in the weekly newsletter update please ensure that you send us weekly updates (i.e., team with the overall improvement, greatest amount of steps, etc......).
