Good morning everyone,
I would like to advise you of a funding opportunity that some of your students may be eligible for. Please share widely with all who may benefit.
The Northern Scientific Training Program (NSTP) will help students pay for transportation and living costs while obtaining practical fieldwork experience in the North. Students will have the opportunity to develop interest and expertise on northern issues, and improve their research skills.
To be eligible, students must be:
* Undertaking field research in the Canadian North (see the maphttps://www.canada.ca/en/polar-knowledge/fundingforresearchers/maps.html for NSTP's definition of "North")
* A Canadian citizen or permanent resident
* Enrolled in Graduate Studies; or
* A senior undergraduate student whose northern field work research is tied to their thesis
To apply, students can find the online application and further information by following this link to our graduate awards databasehttp://webapps.cc.umanitoba.ca/gradawards/index.asp?WCI=SearchForm&WCE=browse&keywords=&criteria=any&category=0&citizen=0&range=0-1000000&tenable=0&byResearch=on&byAward=on&byEligibility=on&id=2592&letter=N. I have also attached the FAQ document supplied by the NSTP.
Take care.
