NSERC Doctoral Prize Call for Nominations
Attached are the NSERC Doctoral Prize Call for Nominations and checklist for the upcoming competition. Please post the announcement and bring it to the attention of faculty members advising Ph.D. students. As in the past, NSERC awards prizes in two categories only: Engineering and Sciences.
I have asked Dr. Peter Graham, Associate Dean of Science to chair the selection for the best thesis in the Science category. Eligible Faculties may submit a maximum of one nomination to the Faculty of Science by their deadline of September 14, 2009. Each Faculty is required to set an internal deadline in order to meet the Faculty of Science deadline of September 14, 2009. The Faculty of Science will forward one recommended nomination to Graduate Studies by September 22, 2009. If you have thesis submissions from students in your faculty, please contact Dr. Graham and inform him of your faculty's submission and ask to be included as a member of the selection committee.
The Faculty of Engineering has agreed to coordinate the NSERC Doctoral Prize nomination for the Engineering category. Departments may submit one recommended nomination to The Faculty of Engineering by September 14, 2009. The Faculty of Engineering will submit one recommended Engineering nomination submitted to the Faculty of Graduate Studies by September 22, 2009.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you very much for your assistance.
