Dear Members of the CALS Board (2023-2026),

A quick update! There is certainly a great deal happening behind the scenes with Fenton and I to ensure the CALS Board slate was full! (Particularly in the Executive roles. We had more than 7 directors originally nominated - and were able to transition some to the Executive. The goal was to keep great people and be able to share the workload - rather than lose someone to an election!)

As of right now, there would only be one election required for the student position at the University of Waterloo. Given this, we have decided to invite both students from U of Waterloo to join the Board for the upcoming term. (Thus, there will be 3 students.)

We also continue the search for a President. We are very grateful that Dr. Heather Mair has graciously offered to come out of CALS retirement to serve as Co-President should anyone be interested in sharing the role with her. If you are interested, please let me know by Friday, May 15 at 12pm. I will send out communication announcing the new board May 16/17 to the CALS Listserv!

Please note that there will be a changeover breakfast with the old and new boards for knowledge transfer at CCLR on Friday, May 22 from 7-8:30am. Please book it in if you are coming to CCLR! 😊

Thank you all for your willingness to serve CALS and for the time and energy you continue to dedicate to this important association. We see you. We appreciate you. What a phenomenal group of scholars.
