A Free Governance Workshop for Students
Sent on behalf of Dr. Karen Duncan,
The James Burns Leadership Institute is hosting a Governance Workshop for students on Saturday, November 8, from 9 AM-1 PM.
We first hosted this workshop last spring, and the feedback was VERY positive. We are delighted that some participants have already joined boards, and I'm confident many more will do so in the future!
The workshop covers the fundamentals of Board governance, offers guidance on how to find a Board and the questions to ask before joining, and provides an opportunity for peer learning as young Directors share their Board experiences. The workshop supports leadership and career development, while promoting good governance for organizations ranging from business and professional groups to health and education organizations to front-line social services.
We would so appreciate it if you/your team would share this opportunity broadly with your students. Like last year, we hope to see students from many faculties participate. Thanks very much for helping us get the word out!
Registration is open now and closes on October 31. Link: https://forms.office.com/r/tciCy11U8T
