IH3, as part of the Community Leadership Development Program, invites you to embark on an informative wellness journey focusing on health coverage and benefits for international students. This event is organized by international students, for international students (and friends)!
The event will feature an insightful presentation about your UMSU Health & Dental and Manitoba International Student Health Plan (MISHP). Participants can expect to engage in a meaningful Q&A session, followed by an open forum to share, connect, and reflect on community connection and reflection. The event will also feature trivia quizzes and bingo games to test your knowledge with exciting prizes to be won!

(Police)ing in Schools Thursday, March 14, 5:30 p.m. Leatherdale Hall, University of Winnipeg Join the University of Manitoba Faculty of Education and University of Winnipeg Department of Criminal Justice Studies for a community conversation about the impacts of police(ing) in schools and how we can work toward community-led, evidence-based solutions that keep our communities safe. Andrea Vásquez Jiménez from the national Policing Free Schools campaign will present and be joined by Winnipeg community leaders to discuss the impacts, consequences, and alternatives to police in Winnipeg schools.

My home city, Winnipeg, sits on the original lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, and Dakota peoples and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. I am grateful to live and work on Treaty One Territory, and to have access to water from Shoal Lake #40 First Nation and hydroelectricity generated on the lands of many Indigenous communities in Northern Manitoba. As a descendant of refugees and immigrants who settled on Indigenous lands, I commit to challenging anti-Indigenous racism and supporting the work and leadership of Indigenous communities.
